An Unprecedented Line-up of Political and Agricultural Leaders to Speak at the IDF World Dairy Summit in Belfast
Belfast, 30th October 2017: Key political and agricultural leaders from the UK, Europe and global organisations will take the stage at the World Dairy Political/Agricultural Leaders Forum during the International Dairy Federation (IDF) World Dairy Summit.
During the Agricultural and Political Leaders Forum, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Phil Hogan, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Ren Wang, Assistant Director General, Food and Agriculture Organisation Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department and Thomas Lee Bauer, Principal Industry Specialist, World Bank Group, International Finance Corporation will take to the stage to share their vision on the future of agriculture and the role of dairy within it.
This Forum will be followed by the World Dairy Leaders Forum which will see senior industry CEOs from around the globe give their insights on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
Dr Judith Bryans, president of the IDF and chief executive of Dairy UK, said: “This is a powerful line up of senior political, agricultural and industry figures all prepared to share their vision for the future of dairy. As a sector we need to understand the needs of agricultural and political leaders if we are to continually improve. Given the growing global demand for our products and the importance of our sector with regards to world economics, nutrition and sustainability, we also need our agricultural and political leaders to hear our needs.
